Wirescry
Wirescry is a desktop app that shows you the HTTP and HTTPS traffic of the programs on your computer: every request, every response, their headers and bodies, and why a request failed. It runs on macOS, Windows and Linux.
It works as a proxy on your own computer. You point a browser, a terminal or an app at it, and it records what passes through, decrypting HTTPS with a certificate created for your install alone. Wirescry can open browsers and terminals that are already set up, so most of the time there is nothing to configure.
Free app and Pro
| The free app | Wirescry Pro |
|---|---|
| See every HTTP, HTTPS and WebSocket exchange. Open browsers and terminals already set up. Filter and search, inspect and save bodies, import and export HAR files. No time limit and no account. Open source under the AGPL-3.0. | Change traffic as well as watch it: rules that mock responses, reply with a file, forward or rewrite requests, and breakpoints that pause a request or response so you can edit it. Built into the same app, unlocked with a license key. |
Pro is part of every release of Wirescry. Without a license its tabs show what the feature does and how to start a trial; everything else keeps working.
