I continue to be fascinated by the philosophy of mind. I hadn’t heard of Conscium or Daniel Hulme before this article, but it’s an intriguing read. His descriptions of lab creations wanting to explore feel a bit far-fetched, yet they highlight how easily we anthropomorphize our own algorithms.

One thing is certain: any discussion of consciousness eventually turns on how we define it.

I’ve ordered Hulme’s book to learn more, since the article doesn’t quite reveal where he stands. I’ll also take a closer look at Conscium.
